Start and Finish

Starting time:

10:00 a.m.    10 km runs and 10 km walking

Race closure
The finish will be closed at 3.50 p.m.

Race courses
The course includes turnarounds alongside the panoramic waterside of Kiel for 10.5K. there will be no remarkable altitude differences.

The course might be changed due to strange the weather conditions. Extreme conditions could also cause changes at the day of the event. Please check our website for current information:

Aid stations
We will provide tea, water, coke, and bananas at two aid stations along the route. After finishing, there will be further aid stations providing tea, water, coke, isotonic drinks, Erdinger Alkoholfrei (non-alcoholic beer), as well as bananas.

Payment
The payment for online registrations will be possible as direct debiting, bank transfer or by credit card. If you choose bank transfer, our bank details will be sent together with the confirmation of registration by email!

When in doubt about the correct payment, please bring your payment receipt with you at the day of the event.

(Please register in good time, since the number of participants is limited!)

Late Registration
No registration possible after the deadline.

Change Registration
Alterations to your registration will be possible on Friday, 21st and Saturday (until 9:30 a.m.), 22nd February 2020. There will be a charge of 5,- Euro. In case you cannot participate for any reason, the registration fee will not be refunded.

Race kit
collect your bip number, safety pins and goodies on Friday, 21st February from 16:00 p.m. till 19:00 p.m. or on Saturday, 22nd February from 8:00 a.m. at the terminal of the Ostseekai (Ostseekai 1, 24103 Kiel).

Race tracking
Timing will be done by transponder- you will receive them with you bip number. Wear the easyChip at the foot (shoelace). The time will be recorded automatically at the finish line.

participation conditions 

Marathon:              Year of Birth 2002 and older,

Half marathon:       Year of Birth 2004 and older,

10-km-Runs:           Year of Birth 2008 and older.

Awards ceremonies
All finishers will receive a medal. The top three champions in each race and in each age group will be awarded. In the 10K walking the top three champions in race will be awarded (m/f) only.

Certificate and Results List
Each participant may be given a certificate directly after the competition for a charge of 2,- Euro. Additionally, certificates and results list are available at: www.zippels.de or www.kiel-marathon.de. The results will be uploaded at about 5:00 p.m. on the race day.

Others
Pasta Party at exhibition area (Friday night and Saturday), as well as cakes, stews, mulled wine, coffee and soft drinks. Medical service available at finish and on race course.

Award Ceremony

From 12.00 a.m.     for 10 km runs and walking,

from 2.00 p.m.      for half-marathon

from 3.00 p.m.       for marathon

Parking (free of charge)

There are parking areas available close to the start/finish-zone at the day of the event. Due to organizational issues, the access to the parking areas will only be open until 9.45 a.m. The area will not be reopened for leaving until 1.15 p.m. because the access intersects the race course. If you have to leave before 1.15 p.m., please use another parking lot outside the event area.

Changing Rooms and Baggage Storage
You will find changing rooms and places to leave your sports bags at the terminal (Ostseekai 1, 24103 Kiel).

Showers
A shuttle-service to showers in the nearby Kiels fitness centre/CAP (Kaistr. 54, 24114 Kiel) is provided.
